Marian Denipah is of Navajo and San Juan Pueblo heritage. She was born in Tucson, Arizona and after high school, attended the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico where she studied painting, photography, modern dance, and ballet. She received her degree in Fine Arts from Northern Arizona University. She is married to Steve Wikviya LaRance with whom she frequently collaborates. They both specialize in tufa cast jewelry.
