Debbie Silversmith was born in 1957 and is the granddaughter of Kenneth Begay. Her grandfather taught her how to make jewelry as a child. She made her first saleable piece of jewelry by age 11. When her grandfather passed away in 1977, she inherited his tools and continues to be influenced by his clean designs and technical perfection. Her hallmark is a Hogan.
