SHEEP BEADED EARRINGS BY MARCELLA BEALL (NAVAJO/JEMEZ)
Marcella Beall, formerly known as Marcella Teller, is a beadwork artist from Chinle, Arizona. She is from both the Navajo and the Jemez tribes and comes from a long lineage of jewelry makers. Marcella is a self-taught bead stringer. She's been married for over 40 years and has two children and two grandchildren. Her dedication to her craft has inspired her family; one of her daughters also does lapidary work and inlay work that she learned from watching her mother. Marcella is a kind, soft-spoken, good-natured individual who does beautiful work.
Marcella's work is showcased in esteemed institutions such as the Museum of Northern Arizona, where her colorful beadwork is featured. Her art is influenced by native families, landscapes, livestock, and nature.
