RED & BLACK ETCHED POTTERY BOWL BY POLEY ROSE FOLWELL (SANTA CLARA)
Polly Rose Folwell was born in 1962 and is the granddaughter of Rose Naranjo, the daughter of Fody Folwell and the sister of potter Susan Folwell. She learned pottery making from her mother and in similar fashion, uses traditional techniques with a modern aesthetic. She is credited with developing a design the family calls the "melted rim", which imitates the worn look of the rim of a traditional water jug after many years of use.
