Pauline Romero is a member of Jemez Pueblo and has been creating traditional hand coiled pottery since the 1980's. She learned traditional Jemez pottery techniques from her mother, Persingula Tosa. Pauline gathers the clay from the area around Jemez Pueblo, refines it then begins to make her pieces. She uses a red slip on the surface which he stone polishes by hand. She signs her pottery, "Pauline Romero- Jemez, NM". She is published in Southern Pueblo Pottery 2,000 Artist Biographies, Southwestern Pottery Anasazi to Zuni and Collections of Southwestern Pottery.
