Sterling Silver Bracelet by Maria Samora (Taos)
Maria Samora was born in 1977 and grew up on the Taos Pueblo in New Mexico. She came to jewelry making as a young adult after taking some classes at the University of New Mexico in Taos. But it was not until she received a scholarship to study with renowned jeweler Phil Poirier that she decided to pursue jewelry making as a career. She spent 10 years apprenticing with Poirier while working full time as a waitress to learn and perfect her techniques and develop her unique style, which continues to evolve. She is profiled in the book Masters of Contemporary Indian Jewelry.
This bracelet measures just under 2 inches wide by 5 1/2 inches inside circumference. Wrist opening measures 1 inch.
