LARGE POTTERY JAR WITH TRAINS BY BARBARA & JOSEPH CERNO (ACOMA)
Barbara Hayah Cerno was born in 1951 and is a member of the Eagle/Antelope Clans. She frequently collaborates with her husband Joseph Cerno who was born in 1947 and is a member of the Roadrunner Clan. Both Joseph and Barbara learned the techniques of pottery from Joseph's mother Santana Cimmeron Cerno. Barbara and her husband started working together in 1969 and are known for their large ollas (jars), which are hand made with natural clays, decorated with mineral and vegetal pigments, and fired outdoors.
