Debbie Clashin is a member of the Hopi-Tewa Tobacco Clan and was born to Lorena and Morris Clashin. Among her cousins are famed Hopi potters, Diana and Mark Tahbo who she learned the art form as recent as 2010. Clashin has shown her work in juried competitions such as the Museum of Northern Arizona in Flagstaff and the SWAIA Santa Fe Indian Market where she received winning ribbons for both entries. Her favorite designs are stylized interpretations of ancient Hopi symbols, bird elements, and blessing designs.
