Fine Art

The Native American Fine Art Movement began in the late 1800s as artists began painting. Throughout the 20th century, Native American Artists have continued to experiment with a range of techniques and mediums including painting, drawing, sculpture, fabric arts and multimedia installations. Institutions like the Heard Museum have played an important role in promoting contemporary Native American arts and artists through exhibitions, on-site demonstrations, workshops and events.
