Linda Tafoya Oyenque was born in 1962 and has been making pottery since 1972. She is the grand daughter of famed potter Margaret Tafoya and was taught by her parents, Lee and Betty Tafoya, and her Aunt Mary Esther Archuleta, who married into San Juan Pueblo, and whose designs influence Linda. She is known for her carved black and redware on which she sometimes includes micaceous slips.
