BLACK MICA POTTERY WITH SILVER INSET BY PRESTON DUWYENIE (HOPI)
Preston Duwyenie was born in 1951 and is a member of the Reed Clan. He earned an AA at the Institute of American Indian Arts, where he also taught for 6 years, and a BFA from Colorado State University. He has been active making pottery since 1979 and specializes in the use of micaceous clay. Preston frequently adds cuttle fish cast silver inserts to his pottery.
